We Did it! The 3 Peaks Challenge
on 12. May 2009 in outdoors, 3 peaks, wspa, charity, The Challenge, walking, Legs, personal trainer, Stretching.
We did it! What a great feeling and sense of achievement it is. 24.2 miles and a total of 5,000 feet climbed and we managed it in 10 hours and 22 minutes and didn't get lost once. Both Nicky and I feel like we have been in a boxing match with a psychopathic dwarf as our legs feel as if they have been truly punished. You can hear us as we carefully climb each step of the stairs in our house as though we were tip-toeing across a hot plate and letting out little gasps of pain. So as you can imagine the next few days will mainly consist of stretching. The day itselfimg src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~r/Beebleblog/~4/obo3eAjik-A" height="1" width="1"/
The 3 Peaks Challenge: Progress Report

Regular readers will be aware that my wife Nicky and I have set ourselves a challenge to help raise money for the WSPA, a great charity that not only does its best to rescue suffering and mistreated animals but also educates people in less developed countries on how to treat and care for their farm animals so they get the most from them and farm more successfully. Our challenge is to walk the 3 Peaks in Yorkshire within 12 hours: a 24 mile marathon that includes 5000 feet of climbing.img src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~r/Beebleblog/~4/QtAEulHegec" height="1" width="1"/
Beeble’s Three Peaks Challenge

It has been a while since our last challenge, so we thought it was about time that we set ourselves a new one. This time however it is not going to be any boring, gym-based challenge. No, this time we are tackling the great outdoors and doing it all for charity. What is the challenge? We thought long and hard about what we could do, trawling through the internet to come up with something that would be tough but also different from our normal exercise routines and therefore a challenge that will require us to change our training to prepare for it. Big drum roll please...... We have chosen the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
Running as an Exercise To Reduce Weight
on 30. Sep 2007 in running, walking, fat free diet plans, calories, reduce weight, weight loss.

Most of the developed countries all over the world have been seriously working on fighting and controlling the alarmingly rising obesity problem. Obesity has definitely given rise to the numerous quick-fix slimming centers here and there. Most of such centers entice the overweight or obese people by offering them so-called marvel solutions with medications, superb fat-free diet plans and newer exercise devices.

However, majority of their systems or objects prove to be unscientific and hazardous too. Not only that once you discontinue their programs, the weight starts regaining. Do not go after the hypes and waste money, energy and time. Instead, Running as an Exerciseit is highly suggested that better consult a dietician or nutritionist and discuss about the truly workable and suitable diet plan for you to be accompanied by regular exercises, based on your individual health conditions.

Walking and running are perhaps the best exercises that may genuinely help you a lot. It has been proved that regular running can definitely reduce the excess body weight. Burning as much as 100 calories within the span of fifteen minutes could be possible by regular running. If you don’t have enough space or any specific running track nearby, even spot running or running at a place at home can also make the equal difference. Jumping or rope skipping can also be tried either, you will get the same benefit. Running involves all the organs, muscles, joints and tissues of the body.
