What is Tri-Set Training?

|
| Tri-sets are one of those training techniques that have been designed around an existing training style and then someone had the ingenious idea of adding more. Please note my sarcasm as really it doesn't take a lot of effort to take an idea and add more to make it seem better.

How Many Sets for an Exercise?
on 10. Jun 2009 in results, development, sets, strength, repetitions, Goal, Top Tips, Training Styles, workout, muscle, Exercise.
|
| What are sets?
Sets are simply repetitions of repetitions. For example if you perform 12 reps of an exercise that is one set. If you then do 12 more reps that will be your second set. Not too complicated really (Could you repeat that? - Beeble).
How many sets should you perform per exercise?
This is where it can get confusing, the most popular answer to this question is usually three sets per exercise. Why? I have no idea, but like many exercise concepts in the past they stick until someone comes along with a group of scientists and proves it to be incorrect. Some people will train at five sets and others will just do the one but carry out many different exercises.img src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~r/Beebleblog/~4/jWHuR2MD0Wg" height="1" width="1"/ |

| When designing any program it is important to decide how many repetitions are needed for each exercise. To get this number you first need to understand what your goals are. When you know what you want to achieve then you can start designing a bespoke program that will really help you reach those goals.img src="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~r/Beebleblog/~4/A5xRa5SlJzM" height="1" width="1"/ |
Super Sets - The Exercise Technique Explained
on 02. Apr 2009 in technique, Super Sets, vascular shunt, exercise technique, supporting muscles, Training Styles, routine, Training, Exercise.
|
Super Setting has been around for a while and one of its benefits is that it enables you to fit more exercise into your allotted gym time. It also helps you to push the body a bit further than would be possible when just using your normal sets workout and (dare I say it) it makes your exercise routine that more interesting (he said it: exercise and interesting in the same sentence – Beeble).

What is Heart Rate Training?
Heart Rate training in my opinion is one of the most effective styles of cardiovascular training. Your normal training on the treadmill would be at a level and duration decided before you start exercising. So there you are… running away… and wondering if you should be working a little harder… but [...]

It doesn’t seem so long ago that my first impression of boxing was….well, shall we say not very complimentary. This was of course before I became a qualified personal trainer and fully understood the mechanics behind the sport. I guess I...
